This Flag Came Into Use On :  September 1st 1975.  But Only Adopted On May 17th 1990.  

Description  :  Blue -  Represents The Pacific Ocean,  Green -  Represents The Rich Island,  The Jagged White Shell -  Represents Money,  Black -  Represents The Islander's Skin Colour, Which Is Unique To The Pacific Islands,  The Emblem In The Middle Is A Hat Called A Upe Which Is Worn By Young Men At The Transition Period From Adolescence To Manhood,  The Red Stripe In The Middle Of The Hat -  Represents Men,  The Two Other Red Stripes At The Side Of The Centre Red Stripe -  Represent Women.
